Just because you believe hemlock won’t kill you doesn’t mean it wont. 

Just because the ancients believed the body worked a certain way doesn’t mean it did.

Just because you believe something and can’t prove it doesn’t really mean anything one way or another. All it really means is that there’s more to it than meets the eye and it could possibly be something worth exploring.

But why is it bad to try to use logic or scientific method (not necessarily science) to understand if what we believe is actually the case or if it’s something worth questioning further? Questioning things can only take us farther.
